Update:11/20/2002

The long awaited revision of the Glacier Bay National Park Backcountry Management Plan has begun.  The Plan's implementation dictates how the backcountry in Glacier Bay will be used for the next two decades or more.

Get involved now if you wish to have much input on the plan. The Park actively solicits thoughts and ideas during this initial planning process.  Significant input at this stage of the process has a much better chance of being considered.  Past experiences show that once preferred alternatives are formulated, few changes are initiated after the fact.

Contact:  Glacier Bay National Park, PO Box 140, Gustavus, AK  99826; 907-697- 2611  to be included on the mailing list for announcements concerning the plan.

See more information at Glacier Bay National Park's "Backcountry Managment Plan" website.
